Many companies experience frustration regarding the lack of talented employees they are able to attract and retain. Cultivating ordinary employees to become extraordinary is absolutely necessary for survival and success.
There is much time and money spent on attracting and cultivating customers. Companies budget for marketing strategies to educate and retain their customers through websites, tradeshows, seminars, blogs, videos, Facebook, rewards and recognition; I could go on. These are all considered good marketing investments, and they are. However these same companies are hesitant to invest money into educating and rewarding their internal customers, their staff.
With the high cost of replacing staff education is a good investment. Training in team building, communication, conflict resolution, sales, management & leadership, in addition to technical training are strategies vital to the development and empowerment of your employees. Staff newsletters, regular meetings, conferences, staff evaluations and regular anonymous evaluation of management are all part of overall effective educational strategies.
When an employee feels ill-equipped to do their job, they often experience a higher rate of burn out, frustration, and outbursts. This dissatisfaction not only reduces productivity and damages the team; it often leads your employee to look elsewhere for employment.
If you do not have the in-house expertise and time to develop these educational tools consider hiring an outside consultant to help you develop your team through customized programs.
Invest in your most valuable asset – your people!
